Dracula at the Pearly Gates
Dracula was killed by the vampire hunter Van Helsing.
He eventually
arrived at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter, on seeing
him, told him:
"Count Dracula, you have been a very bad boy in your
life. Yet, since
you couldn't help it, being a mean, old vampire and
all, the Big Boss
has deemed it only proper to give you another chance
at life to redeem
yourself. You will be reincarnated. However, you can
no longer be
human. The good news however is : it is your choice
of what to be
reincarnated as."
Count Dracula thought for a moment and then replied:
"I would like to
be an animal that sucks blood and has wings."
St. Peter said "Very well".
He clapped his hands, and
Dracula
disappeared. Eventually he found himself reincarnated
as a vampire
bat. He set out that night, but unfortunately was
killed by a hunter.
Shortly, he was back before St. Peter. "Tough luck",
said the saint.
"The Boss is willing to give you another chance, but
this time, the
most you can be is an insect. Nothing higher."
Count Dracula thought for a moment and then replied:
"I would like to
be an insect that sucks blood and has wings."
"Hmmm...," said the saint, "You do have a thing for
this blood and
wings stuff, eh? Well, suit yourself."
He clapped his
hands, Dracula
disappeared again, and this time found himself as a
mosquito. He got
hungry, tried to bite the young man nearby, and was
squashed by the
man's swift hand.
For the third time, the poor Count was again before
St. Peter.
"You're
just out of luck. The Boss really wants to help you.
One more chance
kiddo. But this time, you can't even be a living
thing."
Count Dracula thought for a moment and then replied:
"I would like to
be a nonliving thing that sucks blood and has wings."
Good.... I've
found a loophole, he thought. Since a vampire is
undead, "I'll be
reincarnated as a vampire. They've got no choice.
St. Peter however was wise to his tricks. "As you
wish," he said.
He
smiled and clapped his hands. Again Dracula
disappered...
When he came to, he found he coudn't move. He did
however, felt blood
gushing through him. He also felt wings at his sides.
But he coudn't
see, hear, or taste. Only feel.
"What am I ?" he thought.
Above him, a female voice called out "OK talaga itong
bagong Whisper,
ano ?"
